I know I have a weird tone of voice but it's because I have HFA. I can't help what my voice sounds like. For those who think I have a speech impairment, I do not. I was just really anxious and nervous about speaking because this was my first youtube video I made. If you see me talking elsewhere, you'll realize my speech is not all that unusual and that I may be somewhat capable of conversing (At least verbally) with other people.

On the video when I mentioned my link I forgot to say essay in it. I never realized that at first, sorry.

  • I had to delete a couple of judgemental bullshit comments.

  • HI Corey! I found your video on FB. Cool, huh? :) I work with autistic children/and coach parents on how to connect better with their awesome children. I loved your video, you're very honest. You "look" normal. Sounds like you have a lot of sensory overload. Where NT have filters, autistic people don't. I understand your anxiety in school. I had the same thing. Just do your best!! Blessings!!

  • @gahana108 Thank you SO MUCH for the positive comment. How did you find my video on Facebook?? Oh and it's spelled Cory btw.

  • It is good to see that nobody has hit the dislike button yet! Thank you all for the comments.

  • It is wonderful to see people with AS speak of their life experiences. The world is for everybody and NOT just neurotypicals.

Having any form of autism includes having heightened sensory responses, e.g. certain sounds are painful. Some fabrics are painful. Some smells can make one feel ill. I know one person with AS who cannot stand the smell of talcum powder.

Thank you on behalf of everybody on the spectrum. Keep speaking in your own voice. NEVER pretend to agree with anyone.

  • It is almost impossible to overcome some sensory problems as well. Thanks for the encouragement and positive comment!

  • Actually, you're pretty "normal" compared to most "normal" people. Nothing you describe seems out of the ordinary.

  • I enjoyed seeing your video! I hope that you get the chance to see my story as well and how I go on daily life with Asperger's.

  • Hi Cory

I have a 11 years old son who have high functioning autism he has similiar problem such as you when it comes to motor coorindation, and he plays the piano and he also has perfect itch, I enjoyed your video he also enjoyed it also. you look normal to me and thank you for posting, keep up the good work. God bless you and I'm very sure your mom is proud of you

  • You do look normal.I appreciate the effort you put into this video and enjoyed it.I hope you do succeed and accomplish at whatever you set out to do.

  • I think you look more than normal. you're very handsome ;)

  • you are an inspiration :)

  • Hi Cory~

Just wanted to say thanks for your video. I'm not a teacher, just a regular person trying to learn about Asperger's. I'm 53, so I've seen lots of people in my life, you look perfectly normal to me...besides, what's normal? To me, normal is typical, and who wants to be typical?

Just keep being you, and keep making videos. You have no idea how much your video helped me today. Thanks again!

    Amber
