I've put the 50 cycle pulley and belts on this Maytag and increased the agitation and spin speed. It's a Maytag HotRod. Watch the incredible turnover.

  • Yes, that's correct, it was for overseas models which Maytag made for running on 50 hz power. The pulley is noticeably larger and the belts correspondingly smaller. I thought I would get these now cause who knows how much longer they will be available now that parts are controlled by Whirlpool.

  • I sure hope that your modification of the washer doesn't burn-out the motor!

  • I would think that this wears out the gearbox?

  • I'm so doing this if I ever get my hands on a A806 from this era. When I have the money and house to put it in of course lol.

  • would you happen to have the part number for this upgrade...the parts place here has no clue how to look this up...thanks

  • Is the agitator stroke on this thing faster?

  • love all their videos would like to post more videos on its website on youtube

I know who and you, you are the eddy1210 of page automaticwasher make me as his friend on youtube

  • That is such a cool idea!

  • That is wild!! I'd love to see how the pulley would affect a Bobloaded deep tub model. That agitation is crazy!

  • Very interesting, I've heard about this modification before but I've always wondered how much of an improvement it would make. Souped up indeed! What was the purpose of the 50 cycle pulley in the first place (overseas installation I'm guessing), and how are the 50 cycle belts different from the normal belts?
