I was reading through some obscure folk material when I became inspired by this simple little story. Given that storytelling emphasizes, well..."telling", I thought I'd forego the usual imagery and present it only by means of the spoken tradition; I only hope my version is as engaging as when it was first told, hundreds of years ago.
