The Chiappa 1911-22 out of the box had the rear site left / right adjustment screw fall out along with the rear sight. The sight had been spread open so it would not hold the adjustmnet screw and worse it had some type of rubber cement in the threads to try to hold the screw in. This was a new gun - un opened and in the plastic sleve. I saw this defect before I put my money down. Will not buy any Chiappa product. I had it on order and it came through Davidson Dist.

Is there anyway you could put 22 shorts through this? Thanks in advance

Yes, but you would have to manually cycle the slide, and might also have feeding issues from the magazine. However, they will fire.

The Chiappa 1911-22 is worthless, DO NOT waste your money on this, I own one, its very cheaply made, and every time you load a mag it drops the slide. Plus the safety broke within the 1st 200 rounds. Going to try to trade for ANYTHING at the next gun swap.
Look into the Umarex 1911-22 much better design and construction, and without the hassle of needing a allen key to take down like the sig or gsg-1911 which field strips completely different then a standard 1911 design.

You should contact Chiappa. I've never had any trouble with mine, and my brother Boge has over 4,000 rounds through his with zero problems.
