@dvlaries So true. I agree. They were truly eclipsed by the Gordy/MOTOWN experiment. Had the young company the money and experience, a whole lot of super super things could have and would have occurred- a great topic for conversation. Wild One behind You've Been In Love Too Long are my Martha favs. Miss seeing
her, Ros, and Betty at the Apollo. They were so soulful and earthy/raw/authentic. Lol. Wayne

So Much Better Than Ross-Any Day! This Is A Primo # 1 Dance Toon, & Will Always Be # 1 In My Book!

Always thought this was the greatest Motown song no one ever heard of. Has all the elements of the sound- including the driving beat, the heavy tambourine, the call-and-response of the Vandellas- awesome!!

THE FEELING I GET WHEN I HEAR A TOOooOON THAT IV FORGOT ABOUT OR NEVER HEARD ,FEELS SOOOOOO GOOD
This should have gone higher than 34 Pop on Billboard. But when it came out in mid-November 1964, the Supremes had already been to No. 1 with "Where Did Our Love Go" and were there again (for 4 weeks) with "Baby Love" so any promotional push by Motown behind a Vandellas record was now half-hearted, at best. Also, the record stood in the immediate shadow of "Dancing In The Street," a tough anthem to have to follow, but the individual excellence of "Wild One" is beyond question.
