This is a wonderful performance of this Fauré masterpiece! I invite you to hear Cortot´s pupil and professor of the Conservatoire de Paris Mme. Tagliaferro (1893-1986) playing it too, there are the two most lyrical and beautiful playing of this beautiful work, in my opinion. THANKS FOR POSTING! (sorry about my english)

@snapper842002 Who cares. Just listen and enjoy this wonderful performance!

You can't do that for an exam, it usually has to be as written
-
@ozmonto i don't take notice of pedal markings there is a lot of half pedalling, have it in your imagination and ears then play it as it sounds
-
@siestoman Which version are you playing? I find the pedal to be a bit bizarre in mine. Perhaps it is just me. Generally pedal starts on the second quaver of the bar (in the first movement), how are you (OR ANYONE ELSE WHOM IS READING THIS) utilising the pedal?

This piece is so stunning! I'm playing it for my ATCL exam and I honestly don't think I could get tired of it. Faure composes beautiful music!
