i have a uk 82 B model, love it! they are a bit noisy even when all the adjustments have been done. a bloke outside a pub was talking to me about mine, said they're nicknamed "the knocker"!

Don't think so, CX's just sound that way. A cam chain noise is pretty pronounced.

Sounds like the ticking is from the cam chain slapping around in there. May want to look into it, great vintage bike!
