Ghana Blog - Part 4

This is Xmas day... I go to church with the kids, check out a proper African Xmas - all singing and dancing. Then we go to the local school, look around and meet the cultural group - who did a one hour concert just for us!! But that will be on another video on it's own...

I hardly keep my atheism a secret, I mention it in the video, there are atheism links on my site and my current fave videos on my youtube channel include more than a few atheist vids.

However, many of my Ghanaian friends that will watch this are christian (they know my beliefs) and I don't wish to make a point of it here from a video about them! I also don't feel like making point out of it here in a comments thread. There is a great debate on the forum for those that are interested. J

The singing in the church by both adults and children is beautiful. Justin, I have just discovered your lessons site and as an intermediate guitar player who has been out of practice for a few years (and rusty), your site is a real blessing. Atheist or not (I'm a devout Christian lol) you have a huge heart and seem like a really nice guy. That you went to church for your friends and the kids is heartwarming. many people are not going as christians as much as you think. there is a large group that have intentions of abolishing the africans faith in jesua christ and replace it with the new age. you know, worship yourself, the universe, rocks, rats, anything but god. this is a very big movement. many of them are void of love. the bible says give in secret. I think you didn't expect to find these people full of pride. look at their clothing. the band you were not worshiped. jesus does give life. see it?

I think that everyone on this earth should get the opportunity to experience CHRISTMAS IN AFRICA. it is one of the best thing in the world and it will make you want to be an african for life. faith is more abundant in those with fewer resources. the wealthy and brainwashed put their heart into the material things they acquire. simplicity brings forth "gifts of the spirit" and one of them is self-expression.

this video brings back memories of my 2-month visit to West Africa 15 years ago. If only I had a video camera back then.

I'll add you to my prayer list Justin. I am struck by the massive belief in Jesus that these poverty stricken people have. It's like the Gospel music that came out of the south in America during slavery. Their faith is amazing! Thank you for this.
