PAL PS3 80gb model

Final Fantasy IX (ファイナルファンタジーIX, Fainaru Fantajī Nain?) is a console role-playing game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) as the ninth installment in the Final Fantasy series. It was released in 2000 and is the third and last numbered Final Fantasy game for Sony's PlayStation. The game introduced new features to the series, such as the "Active Time Event", "Mognet", and a revamped equipment and skill system.

Set in the fantasy world of Gaia, Final Fantasy IX's plot centers on a war between several nations, sparked by an ambitious queen named Brahne. Players follow a young thief named Zidane Tribal, who joins with several others to defeat the Queen. The plot shifts, however, when the characters realize that Brahne is a puppet for an arms dealer called Kuja.

Final Fantasy IX was developed alongside Final Fantasy VIII, but took a different path to return to the series' roots with a more traditional fantasy setting. Consequently, Final Fantasy IX was influenced heavily by the original Final Fantasy game, and features allusions to other titles in the series. The music was scored by then regular series composer Nobuo Uematsu. The game has been subject to generally positive reviews, but received mixed opinions for its return to the style of older Final Fantasy games. Final Fantasy IX was commercially successful, selling 5.08 million units worldwide as of March 31, 2003.

  • @franzken FF IX will be released on PSN and you can upscale the game if you have HD-television :)

  • you sure took a long time to press X. lol

btw, great vid. I lovee FFIX.

  • @lamkafeira IFF IX is a great game because it has the nostalgia of the old games and the battle & story was brilliant. Too bad Squenix didnt release this on PSP.

  • TerporFIN please answer this question. besides smoothing, which i imagine adds bilinear or trilinear filtering to textures to make them smooth. does the ps3 also add AA (anti-aliasing) to make the jagged edges go away?

  • No, but if you want the best hi-res version then play FF IX on PC with a PSX emulator :)

  • @shiekta on the PC it's true HD, but the sound... PS3 is the best.

  • @zloidz

on the ps3 yes on pc its much better

  • @shiekta the "Smooth" function I guess, but still, in comparison with PSX, it's still crap.

  • @zloidz i used an emulator that filters this stuff perfect

  • @shiekta It's even worse than the graphic on psx, I recommend you playing it on your psn, playing it on ps3 will give you a big disappointment.

  • Graphics are still ugly as shit the filtering is crap shame on you SONY!!!

  • aww i miss this battle theme

  • Who cares about graphics? The game was for the PSone, obviously the graphics are not going to be uber impressive. What is it more important is if the load times are any different, because they are real slow for FF9 on the psone.

  • quick question, does the playstation network version come with all 4 discs?

  • @IanSumallo

Did notice that i i play it on SCART ( RGB ) it works the best. Smooting on, and it's fine.

    HDMI was terrible ;'(
