Barry Gray Pinewood in Space

Here is Barry Grays Pinewood in Space taken from the album Musical Highlights from Film Harmonic 79. Pinewood in Space was a concert piece arranged by Barry for the 1979 Film Harmonic concert, which he conducted live. The piece uses music he composed for Doppelganger, aka Journey to the Far Side of The Sun, Thunderbird 6 the film and Thunderbirds TV series. I have compiled this film using various scenes from these productions. Please comment!

Journey to the far side of the sun to Space:1999 Barry Gray's music always rocks. Even with the the Royal Marine band playing it. Are there any CD's available? I've always LOVED Journey to the far side of the sun and would buy it on the spot. Or any of the others I've grown up with. Well... thanks for posting this.

@TheSpelldoctor Most of Barry Gray's sound tracks are avalible on CD now. Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet Space 1999 & Joe 90 are available commercially whilst Stingray, UFO, The secret service & Supercar/ Fireball Xl5 are available through Fanderson. The Fanderson releases do sometimes come up on Ebay but they go for silly money. For some reason Journey to the Far Side of the Sun isn't available yet, shame really its a really good soundtrack.

Barry Gray is for me the geatest composer in the world!!! Such beautiful works he has done.

His sound is btw very typical!!! No composers I know combine vibraphones with strings in such an intelligent way!!!!

If ever there was a match made in heaven, it would be the shows of Gerry Anderson and the music of Barry Gray. Thanks for posting this marvellous music from one of the most gifted/talented composers ever. I remember Gerry's shows for the music as much as the actual action!

@ben2692 He was truly talented and took TV series music to the next level. His compositions were also well served by great editing. The Doppleganger film music is special as well - but goodness what a downbeat ending
