this simple set up works for most small lizards and this is also a cheap set up.

  • Oay 2 things are really wrong..

They are called UNDER tank heat mats thats where it should go.

Calcium sand is THE WORST substrate ever. If you want to use sand us only FINE grit play sand.

the reason is The geckos will try to get the calcium from the sand and will could constantly try to lick it causing impaction. not to mention it stains the geckos..

other than tha its set up correctly except you should have a small dish of calcium powder avaliable at all times

  • @MagicalGeckos i understand the problem this vid was made a long time ago and the set up has changed alot i will do an update as soon as i can but thanks for watching.

  • hey man ignore all of these people who think what is best for ur gecko u know what to do and good job!:D

  • @506Raptor cheers mate

  • its very dangerouse to out the heat mat in the container!

  • @shawnnamanana i understand your concern but all my heat mats are controled by thermastates which control the heat to stop the risk of over heating.

  • the gecko looked to big for his/her hide

  • The heat mat goes on the outside on the bottom

  • my lizard live in the pink sand and he hasn't died hes 3yrs old

  • For all reptiles: They can burn themselves on heatmats or rocks! you have to put it under the tank mate

    gzz

  • You might want to get bigger hides and a bigger water dish

  • The sand does look cool BUT causes impaction so it considered a "NO-NO"

  • @geckosonthebrain im going to say yes and a no , as one of mine is absolutely fine with it only becuase she was brought up on it and is fed very well so she doesnt need to eat it, if i was u just stick to other substrates like slate or tiles :)
