  • Question. Will I be able to pass CALIFORNIA smog check with SS Race cats/ header?

  • @jo5566200 I'm sorry but no, the Supersprint Headers and Cats will not pass SMOG emissions testing, our cats in many instances are 1/2 the cell count of the factory cat and in being more free flowing they do not eliminate the emissions to the full degree to be CARB compliant for street use.

  • One other question,

Which version of the Headers can be used to go with F/I kits like AA's S/C or HPF kit?

Also which one supplies more low end torq?

    Stepped headers version 2?

  • @futballa910 The Version 2 Stepped Headers provide the most low-end torque, we installed a VF Street/sport Supercharger kit on this car a few weeks later, all of the components complemented each other, in doing so there was a 32HP and 27 ft-lb increase over some dyno's of other M3's that had the same s/c kit with the stock exhaust.

  • Where do the O2 and Exhaust tempeture sensors go if you use these headers on stock M3 catalatic converter? Becase the OEM headers have the cats one peice with headers no? did i miss something sounds like a silly queston :S

  • @futballa910 The Supersprint Headers have the O2 bungs ready for the sensors to be installed along with the EGT sensors. There are bungs also behind the Supersprint Metallic Cats that are down stream so that the change of a CEL light is reduced.

  • @528im52 what about installing only headers with section 1 stock, (another words no cats) where do you hook up after cats O2 sensors to get rid of check engine light ?

  • due to the fact that its a bmw, even just installing a performance exhaust, such as this one, will require some tuning right ? or else you'll get a check engine light ?

  • @13slot28

    lol ;-)

  • @528im52 Ah thank you. I am planning to get these SS headers and Race exhaust once winter is over. Thanks for quick reply.
