Slavery was never forbidden in the bible. Moses enslaved the people of the land he was leading his people to. If you can tell me where it says that you are not allowed to enslave people I will stand down on this issue. However I have ready the book. Thus your arguments are wrong. But please correct me.

Godly influence? It was slavery! Sexual slavery was written in the bible as okay. The bible gave instructions on how to enslave and rape virgins, girls (to pay for debt), and other people. Slavery, rape, and genocide were okay , that is because it was okay back when this book was written. Since then our morality has evolved enough so that we know that it isn't okay to rape as a war measure, or to enslave our daughters into sexual servitude to pay our debts. Use your reason.

@papermermaid so, at best they were to have seven years of godly influence and then released in a better state. this is not at all to rightly justify the kidnapping and or oppression of men, forbidden in the Bible. only when the children of Israel (who were in a theocracy, guided by the Lord Himself), were commanded to be the hand of the Lord, in judgment, to kill or enslave, was it right to do so. the avaricious imperialistic conquest of the European fake Christians had no Biblical backing.

I am not revolted by Jesus as much as I am revolted by fairies, unicorns, and mermaids. He is just mythology.
I love a lot of mythological music. Most of classical music is based on the christian myth. I absolutely love classical music. I love christian mythological art work. The Sistine Chapel. I would love to look at the Vatican, and in the same respect I would love to see the Parthenon, or the pyramids
Note: Slavery is never mercy. Rape is never mercy. Murder is not mercy

@papermermaid again, there was nothing to "not understand". the devil in you is revolted at the mention of that worthy Name. What a tired, old, nonsensical claim that the Bible promotes slavery. These were either indentured servants who sold themselves as property of captives of the the heathen nations, in the old covenant, who were to happy they were not killed, yet bore the judgement of slavery which was a mercy unto them. they were commanded to be freed with money every 7 years.

They used the bible to justify slavery. The bible tells you haw to beat your slave and how to teat them. The new testament even instructs slaves the 'Listen to their master'. You really need to brush up on your mythology. I was sent here by a friend because she is a singer and thought I would like this song. I didn/t understand it. That/s all. Mythological work can still be good work, no matter how wrong the superstition is.
I am totally against religion in all forms, but there is absolutely no denying the soul and emotion in this woman singing this song so beautifully. If it doesn't move you, you have no pulse. Magnificent.
