Louie is an eight year and five month old male Irish Wolfhound. Here he is doing what he does best: sleeping. Louie sleeps for most of the day; he always has. Ever since he was a puppy, Louie has loved to sleep. Recently, with the new medication imposed by Dr. Bonney, his health has improved and he is a little more active during the day. However, once the sun sets, Louie is off to sleep.
In the middle of the shot, the main lights were turned on. You get a much better view of Louie with these lights blazing.
You can see him taking short, shallow breaths. You might also notice that his underside has been shaved. He had EKGs taken when he was admitted to the cardiac specialist in Lawndale, CA. Dr. Lesser took Louie under his care. His EKG showed an arrhythmia; however, Louie is receiving treatment for this problem.
A few minutes after this clip was taken, Louie was sound asleep, snoring away as usual.
You can follow Louie's progress on www.wellbeyondthepale.com. Select Irish Wolfhounds, then pick All About Louie.
Louie passed away peacefully at 3:42 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2008.
