Its finally spring & Martin has one thing on his mind - Birch Sap. In this video he discusses the uses for the sap & how you can get it yourself. He chows down on wild garlic, pignuts & explains a little about how to brew your own birch sap wine, mmmmm - yummy!

  • where can you get the tubing for the birch sap to run from the tree to the bottle

  • @nitrousair - Its just food grade plastic tubing - You can get it from any home brew supply shop + many diy stores & of course the web but I also spotted something similar in a motor accessory shop the other day - windscreen washer tubing. Usually about 60p a meter.

  • Jimi hendrix fan hey, You and I could definitely be very good mates!

  • @pureprotea1- 'White collar conservative flashin down the street, pointing that plastic finger at me, they all assume my kind will drop and die, but I'm gonna wave my freak flag high' - Jimi Hendrix. If everyone took a leaf out of Jimi's book the world would be a much more colourful & chilled place - probably a lot greener as well! He he! Easynow.

  • Thanks for showing me how to do it, im going to try and see if i can make a nice, tasty wine as well. Any more tips for when i do it?

  • @TheBushcraftBoys - Just keep all the equipment as sterile as possible, its a lot of effort to go through to have it turn to vinegar. Take care of the trees & make sure you drill as shallow a hole as is necessary. Good luck.
