VUG-SEAR is a computer science project done by 2 students, Simon Lemieux and Olivier Berthelot, from Sherbrooke University (Canada).
This project is using the vug-simulator, previously developped by the same team, to create environnement of robotic assistance (tele-nursing) where the pilot is using the Nintendo Wiimote to interact in real-time with the simulation. Simulation include 3D graphics and physics.
Our project merge all of these technologies :
*Ogre3D Graphics Engine (ogre3d.org)
*ODE Physics Engine (ode.org)
*QT Framework (trolltech.com)
* Encapsulation of WiiUse Wiimote library (wiiuse.net)
Some features showed in this video include :
- Motion detection and analysis.
- 3D controllable objects with physics.
- 3D Vision experimentation (based on Johnny Chung Lee's idea).
- Actions associated to the wiimote commands are configurable.
- Multiple configurations of the wiimote + Navigation through one another.
