This is a video on a basic idea on how to tune all carburetors for goped motors

you will need:
- flat head screw driver
- stock specs for your carb

my motor was already tuned so i untuned it and retuned it for you guys to show you how to do it.

High speed jet - Farthest away from cylinder head
Low speed jet - closest to the cylinder head
Idle screw - located by the throttle cable on your carburetor.

High speed jet tuning - turn the screw in 1/8th turns till it reaches its "highest pitch" or "scream"
if you keep turning in and you see no results then turn out the screw 1/8th turn.

Low speed jet tuning - you want to tune this with the similar idea as the high speed jet, except you want to tune it so its a smooth acceleration and not groggy ( showed in video )

NOTE: TUNING YOUR GOPED ON A STAND IS NOT AS RELYABLE AS RUN-TUNE-RUN-TUNE

YOU SHOULD MAKE YOUR ADJUSTMENTS WHILE RIDING YOUR GOPED AND TUNE THEM TILL YOU SEE BETTER PERFORMANCE.

YOU SHOULD ONLY USE THE METHOD SHOWED IN VIDEO FOR A CLOSE TO PERFECT TUNE THEN RUN-TUNE-RUN-TUNE

if any questions just comment/message me i check YouTube everyday.

  • i have a trail ripper, i run 50:1 is that bad?

  • @sxr970 a little low on the oil. 40:1 is perfect, its a two stroke and it needs its oil. and will stay cooler longer. also less wear on your piston, bore, and bearings.

  • Is that just a random disc brake caliper off a mountain bike or something?

  • @drewstudio do you run yours 25:1 ratio? i suppose everyones in a little different depending on the climate your in.

  • @ultracomp2 Naw, Man it's 25:1 but I'm sure you people have already blown your engines by now

  • i hate this tuning

  • Also what is your idle setting?

  • Hey I have the interceptor and it ate 3 spark plugs already for 3 full tanks of gas. Can you please help me out? I feel so bad already.

What ratio are you running? What is your Carb setting on your trail ripper currently?

I am running mineral oil for the meantime for the break in but am done with the dam flooding already. So please help me out T.T

  • @321asdfff you make me laugh. if you paid attention, i clearly dont have a proper throttle return spring. also note that i did push the idle back down.not more then a week after this video i fixed the throttle return spring. i dont even have this goped any more. i sold it a long time ago.

  • doesn't matter how much u prime ur motor, u can only flood it if ur squeezing the accelerator
