it's very sad that so many people misunderstand transsexualism. What cisgendered people fail to realize is that your physical body and your brain are two separate things. Trangenders exist because they, unfortuantely, have it mismatched. In Chaz's case, he has a male brain but had a female body. You can't be your biological sex if your brain doesn't match it. It is just as impossible as learning to fly. It is unfortunate that transgenders aren't widely accepted and acknowledged like gays are.

i really don't understand trans-genderism. my gut instinct and life long motto is, always stick to nature as closely as you can, one shouldn't tamper with nature; problems arise only when we drift away from nature. having said that, it is their choice, they are not hurting anyone nor breaking any laws. and no one aside from them knows what they have gone through or what their plight is. may be they are here to test our understanding and empathy and compassion and acceptance.
