Sign the petition to support the legal effort to amend our tax laws such that the Mormon Church, and other transgressing churches, would lose tax-exempt status if they continue lobbying for state propositions.

The LDS Church broadcast a message via satellite backing a coalition in support of California's proposition 8 -- a ballot meant to eliminate same-sex couples to marry. FOX 13 spotlights a Murray family's father torn by conflicting emotions, one of church conviction, the other of supporting a son who is wedded to another man in California. FOX 13's Nicole Hunter reports.

I personally am appalled.
I already had issues with the LDS church. This is just one more.

Marriage should be a right for EVERYONE regardless of whom they choose to marry!

  • So, let me see if I got this straight.

70% blacks supported prop 8 and the Gay folks are targeting the Mormons?

Pro prop 8: 36 Mil, 26 Mil raised in Cali.

No Prop 8: 38.5 Mil, 26 Mil raised in Cali.

So, the majority of money was raised IN Cali. Californians voted YES on prop 8. Blacks voted 70% on Yes. Mormons make up less that 1% of the pop of Cali.

Somehow Mormons are to blame? Why go after Mormons and not blacks? Simple to figure that one out. No one would stand for targeting blacks.

  • Oh please... Blacks make up only 7% of California's population, how in the world are you blaming this on us?!

  • Poland however, while it may notr be communist, still limits freedom of speech with their ridiculous blasphemy laws

noone should go to jail or be sued for offending catholics

and noone should be expelled fromschool for attending MM concerts

its a violation of human rights and sheer hypocrisy

is this is the land of the free or the land of hypocrisy?

  • besidesi believe in free speech

    socialism can be democratic

it dpends on the leader of the party

  • @MrManumona well its not really a legitimate reason to expel someone

a good reason why powers of church and state should be seperate

manson's mesage in his interviews is one of the most postive onesi;'ve heard ina long time

be yourself and dont give a flying monkey's what people say or think about you

  • @BOLSHEVIXTREME Again, you have your right to not support our movement in any way, that is your iviolable free will. The Manson affair is simple in Gospel terms, there is no middle ground , either "you are with me or you are against me".Manson's message is incompatible with Christ's. BTH, several tunes of Manson sound nice to me musically, but that is another issue. Democracy in the Gospel is as alien as free speech under Stalin! Either you take it or leave it over there.

  • @MrManumona i respect your rights

but i wont support any movement which violates civil rights sorry but thats my view

also in Utah, i understand schools threatened to expel students if they attend Marilyn Manson concerts tell me, does that sound fair to you?

  • @griselmania You dislike prop.8, I HAVE A BLACK FRIEND!!

  • We have freedom according to each one's conscioussness. When the effects of politics attack our foundations we are free to defend our terrain. Our own Brigham Young was clear on this when he wrote to the American President to "back off" from Utah. If iniquity reigns on earth we will not stand neutral. Although I quite understand that it is impossible to talk of these things with a Bolshevist...You can think as you like, I respect your free will to do so.Respect our free will to dissent.

  • hypocrites

  • @MrManumona aren't mormons alsosupposed to remain neutral in politics as your website says

  • We are not going to feel guilty for protecting our right to fulfill not only God's commandments, but also biological laws. What about it? Gay marriage is not only a religious abomination but also a biological aberration, Gays want to live together as a copule? Let them. But to pretend Marriage is ridiculous. Signs of the times.
