I'm 29 years old and discovering this song for the first time thanks to my mother. I am going through a breakup and this song nearly brought me to tears. The entire song is beautiful, but there is something about the way she sings the last two lines of the song at the end that just rip through me. So beautifully done.

I met Sammi many years ago when she was passing through Richland, WA. This was during my country music radio days as a dj. I emceed a couple of her shows and got to talk with her at length about her work with Apache children. This is the best version of "Help Me Make it Through the Night," and was Sammi's only major hit. It's a shame because she was an amazing talent and humanitarian. God rest you Sammi.
