Summoner Avatar Battle - Ifrit

Basic summary of this battle.

1) Equip defense+ gear. MP does not matter in this battle.
2) First you thing you do is pop a boiled crab. You can do this before you trade the fork, or right after entering the battle field.
3) Run up the ramp, past the bend, and stop right at the crack near the top of the ramp.
4) From there, start summoning Carbuncle (who will immediately engage with the Avatar)
5) Pop a Yagudo drink right after, this will ensure that you can pull off Searing Light and still have Carbuncle out (Searing Light wipes out your MP pool).
6) Use your two hour Summoner ability, Astral Flow
7) Use Searing Light
8) RUN! Do not stick around to see how Carby is doing, if you used Yagudo drink, Carby should still be out and kicking so put as much distance between you and the Avatar.
9) When you get to the very bottom of the battle field where you first entered pop an ether (not hi-ether, that takes too long to use)
10) Resummon Carbuncle who should have died while you were running down.
11) Use Searing Light again.
12) RUN!
13) When you get to the top of the ramp, resummon Carbuncle.
14) Pop another ether
15) Searing Light again
16) The avatar should either be dead, or very close to dead. If very close to dead twack it with a stick or use banish.

A few reminders:

- Be sure to have macros for everything. You don't have time to go through the menus or type anything out.
- Carry plenty of hi-potions and use them when you need to. Some battles I used none, some I used 3 or 4.
- If things go wrong, improvise, but just know that you need to pull off 3 searing lights to even get close to winning this battle. And remember, Astral Flow only lasts a few minutes. *Just* long enough for 3 Searing Lights.

Basically, it boils down to: Run run run, astral flow, searing light, run run run, searing light, run run run, searing light, ta da!

@spencer528 ifrits weak on watersday, garudas weak day is iceday actually. Took my 5 times to beat that pidgeon garuda >...<;

should mention that this is a lvl 20 capped fight and having summoning magic capped for that level helps like at 3:43 where Ifrit uses Inferno and wipes Carbuncle - the extra summoning magic helps not being interrupted during the casting when being hit. Also good idea to do this particular battle on Watersday or Lightsday =P
