Bottled water isn't eco-friendly. So I bought a reusable Nalgene bottle to drink from. Now, new studies indicate that the polycarbonate bottle may be leaching dangerous BPA into my drink. Environmental destruction or hormone disruption is not a fun choice to make when you're thirsty (but it is fun to say 10 times fast...can you do it?)

So, in looking for an alternative bottle material to support my drinking habit, aluminum has emerged as a viable alternative.

The Sigg brand of aluminum water bottles has been gaining popularity in the retail market recently. Their bottles are BPA-free, don't affect the taste of your water, are easy to carry and don't weigh any more than my old polycarbonate bottle. Plus, aluminum is recyclable (it's also durable, but even so, the bottle will eventually need to be replaced.)

The aluminum Sigg bottles are now available with custom printing for your next promotion. We also have a less expensive "off-brand" aluminum water bottle that is ¼ the price of Sigg, is every bit as stylish, and includes printing your logo.

These bottles are a great replacement for Nalgene or other polycarbonate bottles in promotions for schools, summer camps, outdoor corporate activities or any event that requires people to stay hydrated.

  • so the inside is aluminum?

cuz there are atudies that say aluminum can be harmful too. The SIGG's have an enamil coating on the inside to prevent liquid contact with the aluminum...are these the same with the coating?

  • Yes, these (and all aluminum water bottles) have a coating on the inside.

  • Go for it. You do trade off the extreme light weight of the aluminum though.

  • I'd rather go with stainless steel.

No coating necessary because no risk of aluminum contamination through resin cracks.

    Any comments anyone?

  • what if the coating goes away on the inside...?

i think i'd rather go with a contigo bottle... its plastic but is bpa free also

  • what do you use a food grade poly or a water based enamel that is baked on?
