  • You know I can really relate to that, it's funny how we grew up loving these shows and yet you knew full well that it was STRAIGHT to bed after Bergerac, and thus the reality of school on monday! I used to bunk off school and watch ITV schools, feel guilty and then go back to school after lunch! ha ha

  • Jersey eh?! Yeagh lovely place during the 80s wasn't it????!!!!!!

  • A bit pixellated in the face though...

  • John Nettles was quite fit back in the day

  • @sji123 Haha... Add Last of The Summer Wine, All Creatures Great and Small, The Antiques Roadshow and Songs of Praise. Guaranteed my homework will get my full attention. I always got better grades after the weekend then during the week.

  • @CnutRexAnglorum He he. You dare to challenge my nightmarish memories sir? ;-) You are right in part, but your answer isn't rhetorical. The series are as follows: Series 1 - 1981 on Sundays. Series 2 - 1983 on Sundays. Series 3 - 1983 to 1984 on Saturdays. Series 4 - 1985 on Fridays. Series 5 - 1987 on Saturdays. Series 6 - 1988 on Saturdays. Series 7 - 1989 on Saturdays. Series 8 - 1990 on Sundays. Series 9 - 1991 on Saturdays. My bad dreams must relate to the 1990 series. :-0
  • great I love this, check out my songs too

  • @actualitycheck But wasn't Bergerac on Saturdays? (That's rhetorical, I know it was Saturdays). Howard's Way was a yawn fest on Sundays but Bread always offered a little light relief before those Monday blues kicked in. That's Life! was always a good chuckle to conclude the weekend's telly.

  • @sji123 This man is a blood brother who knows some of my darkest and repressed childhood memories, except it was French and maths homework I usually had due in Monday mornings, ;-( I liked Bergerac a little bit, but when my folks forced me to watch Howard's Way it really pissed me off. All I can remember is a slimy guy called Ken, Maria off 'Allo 'Allo (best thing in it), extremely dodgy shirts and a fricking boat called the Barracuda that was sadly missing an iceberg. Sigh... ;-)

  • I heard of Bergerac when Jeremy Clarkson made up headlines on an episode of Top Gear. One was:

"Windsor Park resident, the Queen, has eloped with John Nettles, er, star of BERGERAC."

  • @sji123 Add david suchet's version of Poirot to that Sunday night - mare mix

  • didnt kno ringo star was actin in this to
