Cheaper and the quality difference is hardly noticeable to nVidia, in some cases better. But I like nVidia because Jesus Fuck there are so many issues with ATI drivers. I love AMD though, me and AMD are <3. And my 4870 is wonderful too, but I've ran into a few support issues with it.

For 1280x1024 or 1400x900 4870x2 is wrong choice. On that resolution it will perform just like 1GB version of 4870. So for this resolution I would recommend 4850 or 4870.

it is amazing fps for 16xQ AA man.... 16xAA is crazy... run on 4xAA not 16...
BTW, I want to get HD4870x2 I want the best perfomence on my 19" monitor, Can you make a vid running on 1280x1024 with no AA? very high (GPU benchmark please) that will help me I wanna see if it is good

yes it is... this video just shows how it performs on low resolution. Difference between 1680x1050 and 1024x768 is only like 20%.

it's low resolution - that's why it sucks. And i'm getting intel soon (core i7 920). Currently I have no money for new board but i'm going to sell my current stuff and get it.

yes, 4870x2 is meant for higher resolutions. You can check my newer videos with 300mhz faster cpu - i got pretty big FPS encrease.
