She is doing fine as a whole vocally but I really think she needs to think about her moving around the stage a bit: her moving too much on stage takes away from her total performance and frankly not so attractive, almost comic at times: not to mention it may take away her breath also - her CG rendition was better in that respect. She is probably the best Violleta now a days although does not come close to Callas.

Pessima, tra gli applausi di rito anche i fischi!!!!
Come si può proporre alla scala una violetta così?????

@blues123ization I think you do not understand that Callas was the leading artist in low notes and for her reaching such high notes was very difficult. Angela does not have the register of Callas and although she may sing it with a more beautiful timbre it still remains a mystery how Callas was able to reach such high notes, which are realy perfect, not so rich as Angelas, but still perfect. And that's why Callas is unique.

Her technique is flawless and the closest thing to Callas I've seen but with a more beautiful timbre. Callas could have had a better quality just didnt get the right guidance in coaching. Vocal cords too rigid for one thing on the high notes.

I've sung the role several times and truthfully, I don't know how she can run around the stage like taht and have any breatth to sing with at all. What is she doing singing a role or running a 5K?! LOL
So you who don't sing, and say shes out of breath you may be right but that is the reason she's manic and doen't have to be. Her choice.

Io non ho mai capito come si faccia a considerarla un brav a violetta. Mai capito veramente...

She has gotten older and her voice has matured and is now better suited to other repertoire but she is amazing in this performance! An opera singer is an actor also and she is a very good actress! I think she is the closest we have today to Maria Callas...Bravo La Gheorghiu!

Not the disaster I feared (as in her "Bel Canto" EMI CD, where she doesn't give one single vocalise in place), but she's obviously very nervous...

I like this performance but I have to agree the older one is the one I prefer.
