  • Methinks the Magazine purists need to get over themselves and realise a well-played and sung cover is actually a tribute. This clip has been put up specifically for Chocolate Cake fanatics and completists, and goes down a treat when played at live shows.

  • Was this the Big Gig? The set looks REALLY familiar. I think TBG might have finished by the time this song came out though.

My Friend was an awesome band.

  • They are still together and on tour around Australia currently. The only thing this clip has in common with The Big Gig is Flacco. Different network. It's from the Jimeoin show on 7, Big Gig was ABC.

  • fuck off!!

  • Few oops bits but still great so see

  • @auspete Well. Magazine is one of my fave bands but that is defo the best cover. Loving the strings doing the synth rift. Good vid to post.

  • this is well done like d it more than Morrisey's version.what a great song this still is.

  • That's Flacco.. he is the epitome of ridiculousness.. he's not supposed to be a musician!!!!

  • the original gets the foot tapping, this one's good for chillin' to - except for the person with the trumpet - a complete irritant

  • If you can find the recorded version they did of this classic, it may very well change your mind. If not that's the great thing about music, we all like and loathe different things. Me....I just don't get Nirvana, Michael Jackson and The Doors.....all awful in their own way !

  • Oh dear indeed......are you OK ? David Bridie - one of the finest singer / songwriters around.

  • the band looks as irritated by Flacco's presence as I was.

  • 0:19 whos that?
