the original fights are inherited from rajpuths a hindu high caste..........a huge number of sikhs who chose to get converted where hindu worrior caste also known as rajpuths..............even today in indian army rajpuths are well known fighters

@sangam06 At home i always learnt that the chakari was meant to beat off arrows. While psinning the charkari, all the arrows wich hit the rope were bounced away

Chakkar means chakra or "wheel". It symbolizes rotating Sudarshan Chakra which is the weapon of the God Vishnu. And I think, it symbolized " Buddha Dharma Chakra in ancient times in India.
Stick rotating is the prototype of the chakkar. Both technic are almost same.
