I think the issue with none of Michael Jackson's true close friends not being there to honor him, is like you said all this happen within a 48 hour time span. Everyone was still in a state of shock. The best thing BET could've done was have a moment of silence with MJ's pic on the big screen.

Also BET & MTV are both ran and owned by Viacom now.

That was very interesting and insightful. I often wonder if the funds are held out on a lot of African American shows, hmm. I can't really see why else they would squeeze things together than a lack of funds. I, as a black woman would sure be displeased if funds were not the issue. Michael Jackson surely deserved much better than that for the incredible entertainment he gave us.
