I agree with Siskel, the scene would have been better if they would have stuck with the Mr. Blue music (by the Fleetwoods).

  • @johnnyrainbow50 no way. It focused too much on Eddie. They went in order really. European was better than Christmas too. But this one was golden.

  • Christmas Vacation was the best one

  • People forget that before Vacation National Lampoon's crowning achievement was Animal House so this seemed quite tame and lacking AH wild style and madcap humor. I remember being disappointed upon it's initial release and only after seeing it over the years did I develop an appreciation for it.

  • thumbs down for vacation? these guys must have been seriously spoiled with good movies that year

  • EBERT=UGLY

    FANS=NERDS

  • "Have a good laugh. I liked taking this 'Vacation'." - Gene Siskel

    "A fast, funny satire." - Janet Maslin, New York Times

    Smart people

  • Gene gave it thumbs up, good for him.

    So there you go. You both have opinions. You're both exactly the same.

    The only difference is that people give a shit what he thinks. He's no more of a "fucking snob" than you are.
