The institution of slavery ( human owning another human) didn't end until 1865, people live well into the 100's, so when you grow up hearing about what it was like be in the service of whites, it's hard not to be sensative. If we let go of slavery, what about all the years after that? What about the 20's-40's when blacks were being hung from tree's? What about segregation and the civil rights era? What about James Bryd Jr.who was drug to death in 1998? Stop giving us reasons to be sensative.
