Ms. Ye'or talks about her book Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis, published by Fairleigh Dickinson University Press. She looks at the relationship between European and Arab countries since the mid-20th century and argues that Muslims living in Western Europe have significantly influenced their governments' attitudes toward Israel and other countries in the Middle East. During the talk, she also discusses why Turkey should not be allowed into the European Union and addresses the question of European anti-Semitism. Bat Ye'or answers questions from members of the audience following her remarks.

Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis by Bat Ye'or

This provocative and disturbing book is about the transformation of Europe into "Eurabia," a cultural and political appendage of the Arab/Muslim world. Eurabia is fundamentally anti-Christian, anti-Western, anti-American, and antisemitic, while striving for Israel's disappearance and the vilification and isolation of America. The institution responsible for this transformation, and that continues to propagate its ideological message, is the Euro-Arab Dialogue, developed by European and Arab politicians and intellectuals over the past thirty years. With all the drama of a master writer, Bat Ye'or presents a wide range of historical and contemporary documents and facts to tell the story of how the European Union is being subverted by Islamic hostility to the very ethics and values of Europe itself. Readers who seek a fair resolution of the Arab-Israel conflict will be shocked by the evidence produced in these pages of unfair pressures and deliberate distortions. Europe's independence of spirit is shown in the process of being undermined. This book challenges the current demonization of Israel and should be essential reading for everyone interested in true peace in the Middle East

  • ... "an undetectable trend". That's what her perspective is based on. Bat Ye'or, what a name; not surprised Israels' interests are precious to her. Eurabia is a hysterical concept with all the evidence in the world against it. Glad I am immune, and able to detect Jewish subterfuge. With these people it always boils down to Israel and its welfare over the welfare of the nation of resedence.

Islam will be brought down in Europe. Not by way of genocide, of course. But by making Islam illegal on par with Nazism. Churchill is the prophet in that respect: he saw early on the same ground pillars of Nazism and Islam. As Europeans wont accept Nazism once more, we will denounce and forbid Islam.

Turkey will not become member of EU; we don't want a Trojan horse residing within. Greetings from Denmark

  • @halmomani IF YOU read history, you would know that the Byzantine/Roman Empire was the only European nation which had occupied the Middle East, prior to the Islamic Caliphates invasion of Spain, Italy and France. NONE of these countries had ever attacked Africa, the Middle East, or any Islamic nation. Neither had Hungary, Austria, or Bulgaria who were brutally invaded by the last Caliphate, the Ottoman Empire. This all happened before the European colonization period.

  • i just bought her book

  • The answer for " Jews have a conspiracy to enslave the world".

    Sad, just sad.

  • great woman

  • Now we know why the Balfour Mandate was corrupted by Britain, carving off 80% of a tiny land, then transfering the name Palestinian from Jews to Muslims, then calling a 3-state in the same land as a 2-state. Eurabia is a lesson and a backlash of those who keep silent of such evils.

  • They want to come to Europe by force?

  • @Turkish2023

Islam is not a part of Europe. Of course not. And it will never be. More true, however, is that the Islamic world is part of Europe. If you think about it, whose model is it that dominate throughout the entire world? Is it the Islamic? No, lol, not at all. Your dumb slave ideology enslaves your own people, and accordingly all kinds of creativity is maimed. So there is no wonder about moslems living like they did 1400 years ago; that's part and parcel of degraded thinking.

  • @Turkish2023

It is necessary. Islam is an ideology that spreads terror and misery; it is one of the harshest possible hate speeches. That need not be tolerated.

I am not so sure that EU is a laughing stock; but perhaps it makes you feel good just to say it. There are no booming economies in the world. China and India will crack just like the more advanced areas did.

EU have no need for Turkey; accordingly Turkey will stay out.

  • I can't listen to this. Her French accent with her "ums" and "uhs" every two seconds are just too much.

  • She should read history how many Christians converted to Islam in Spain during the Muslim rule. The answer is zero. She wants to bring Europe back to the middle ages and accusing Muslims of the evil, just remember how they accused witched the only different thing now is Muslims are the new witches. Stop this nonsense.
