I decided to film myself training Roland to turn the lights on and off. He learned pretty fast!
If you try this trick at home, don't be discouraged if it takes a lot longer than this to teach. Both Roland and I have had a lot of practice with the clicker =)
At work where I train service dogs we use a light switch that is down low to start them off on. I don't exactly have that luxury at home, so instead of moving the light switch up the wall I taught him to target a sticky note and moved that up.
how do you teach him to actually flick the switch though?

@damopads2 Once he is reliably hitting the switch I would then start narrowing it down so that he's getting clicked for hitting it the right way. You'd be surprised....most dogs seem to catch on to that part of it pretty quick!
