Interesting clip from Dec.1980. Just weeks after the killing of John Lennon. What a blue christmas us Beatlesfans remember. Today most of Lawrence Welk's grandkids are now adults.

This was after Larry and Tanya divorced. Ron Anderson and Michael Redman had beautiful families. As always Sandi's kids are adorable....as well as Paul Humphrey's kids. Norma is just beautiful...the most beautiful female performer ever on the Welk inside and out. All the kids here are just adorable!

It's a sobering thought that, all these years later, all those kids very likely have kids of their own.
Just this last decade saw the deaths of Norma Zimmer, Welk trombonist Barney Liddell, and ace clarinetist Henry Questa, who died just before Christmas of '08, of cancer. Henry's son, whom you see here, died suddenly and tragically at 19, when the college sophomore was shot by robbers at the movie theater where he worked.
But the music and fun will live forever via Welk's PBS shows.
