THE SWARM - Ride Plans - Thorpe Park 2012 Coaster

On 11th February 2011, the plans for "The Swarm" Thorpe Parks 2012 rollercoaster were made public online via the planning website. The ride, manufactured by Bolliger and Mabillard (B&M) will be the 2nd B&M wingrider in the world. The first B&M wingrider opens in 2011 at Gardaland, an Italian Merlin theme park and is called "Raptor". The concept of the wingrider coaster was developed by INTAMIN and presented they this with Furius Baco at PortAventura.

@BexxSyndrome The seats don't twist. That is the sensation experienced on multi dimension coasters. This is a B&M WingRider, meaning you are simply suspended beside the track. It is similar to Gardaland's Raptor. Despite this, you do get a greater turning force acting when you do the zero g's and barrel rolls, due to the fact that you are turning at a wider angle.

This ride will be so awesome. I can't wait!
