Barbara Boxer on John McCain
"The Place For Politics" 3:10pm
Interview

TRANSCRIPT:
NORAH ODONNELL: John McCain says hes not going to show up for tomorrow nights debate unless this deal should be done. Why not suspend campaigning, why not postpone the debate in your mind?

BARBARA BOXER: You know, I was so shocked when I heard that. To me, that is the opposite of a confidence builder. It shows a leader whos under stress, who cant deal with more than one thing at a time. To be the president of the greatest country in the world, we have times when we have an earthquake the same day we may have a flood. We have two wars going on, and we have the biggest bailout in the history of this country that we have to deal with. But a president has to deal with it all. [] And if I am running for president I have to have the courage to do it all, and I dont just say time out, I need to crawl up into the corner with my blanket. Cause life isnt that way, and I thought it was bizarre frankly. And of all the times we need to see our candidates, under stress, unscripted, it would be just at this point in time.

ODONNELL: So you think it was a stunt?

BOXER: I think it was a little political theater to change the debate. And let me tell you why John McCain wants to change the debate. Of all the people whove been in the forefront of deregulation, which is the cause of this problem, deregulation, its John McCain. It started with the Keating Five, when he went in there and tried to press regulators not to go after a Savings & Loan, and Charles Keating. We know about that. And it continued on throughout his whole career in terms of leading the charge with Phil Gramm and deregulation. He doesnt want people to know that, he doesnt want you to talk about it. Isnt it better to have people talk about whether or not there will be a debate. And I think it was this diversion, and I think it was certainly not inspiring confidence in the American people.

  • What a dumb liberal skank.

  • Boxer is such a partisan hack.

  • Tyranny today comes from the United Socialist States of America. This USSA is a one party totalitarian state of Democrat-Socialists and NeoCon-Fascists who don't allow any dissenting views.

A vote for McCain or Obama says that you are an ignorant fool, dumb enough to trade your rights and freedoms for a false security.

Voting for McBama is a wasted vote because either way... WE LOSE!

Vote for ANY 3rd. party to send a message that We, the People aren't listening to their BS any more!
