The goal is to not to just get an "apology", no matter how "true" it will be. Chinese living in the US should use economic power, and use legal methods, such as lawsuits to get Jack Cafferty pay (in terms of legal fees, etc.).
Make Anti-Chinese racists pay for their behavior and words. China-bashing is free today in the west, make them pay, make it expensive. That should be our strategy to win.

The verb "protest" should not be used transitively.
It is more correct to say "protest against CNN", not "protest CNN".
Chinese does not have the concept of transitive versus non-transitive verbs, so a lot of learners make this mistake.
