My problem with what you (and everyone else) says about Silva. You say he needs to fight people who will 'fight' him, people who are aggressive. But why would an intelligent fighter attack the best counter striker in MMA? Why should Silva's opponents cater to his strengths? Its a bad idea to be aggressive towards Silva, it's what he wants his opponents to do and to do it is just a bad game plan. It's the equivalent of someone lying down and giving their back to Maia there back in round 1!

I hate Silva, but anyone who lays down in the middle of a fight should be penalized harshly.

Also, Silva's not that good, and probably knows his luck will run out. Hence the holding back.

I agree with you- I hated the Matchup- You have to beat the champ to be the Champ- If you are a great BJJ- then take Anderson down and submit him- For the fools that expect Anderson to jump into someones guard and try and submit them you are silly this isn't a BJJ contest it's MMA. I also agree his action were un-sportsman like- that is what disappointed me. But we are all human.

i think silva was just trying to show off because he knew maia didnt have a chance. even though chael sonnen is gonna actually fight silva hes still gonna get knocked the fuck out. silva needs to fight belfort, that would actually be an even fight.
