Do find the ground planes make a big difference? I have had my A99 up for nearly 20 years now and I talk thw world on it. I was thinking about adding ground planes.

Hello BananaJSSI, There are 3 major improvements. (1) It reduces the ground/static noise from your radio. (2) Closer to 50 ohms at the antenna which means less signal loss and more output getting to the antenna. (3) A better takeoff angle which does improve your DX contacts). When you do mount the bracket on the antenna make sure you put it on the TOP U-BOLT!. That is the antenna feed point. Do not put it at the bottom as Solarcon recommends. Thanks for the post & check out my other videos,

It changes the take off angle of the output power and also eliminates tvi. The best enhancement to do to the Imax 2000. Thanks for the comment. Check out my other videos. "313"
