  • I have a situation. I have the Gerber mini Paraframe fine edge, so I'm hoping you could help. Are they usually so hard to close when you first buy them? I can't get mine to close at all. I mean I have to use both hands to fold the blade down and I'm afraid that I'll cut myself if I put any more force on it. I know I'm doing it right because I've done it once, but I'm not sure it's supposed to be that hard to close it all the time.

  • It should not be too hard to close. Mine was pretty easy to close when I got it. It is a trait of frame locks that they need to be broken in sometimes. To do this you would open and close it several times in order to loosen the frame up. if you are having trouble closing the knife hold the blade in position with one hand and almost try to stretch the frame lock out a bit and see if that helps.

  • It's a great knife that fills all my needs, which so far aren't that many. Thanks for showing me how to close it the right way! (My fingers had been hurting from putting tons of pressure on it. Now it's easy! :)

  • I found a good review on associated content that talks about how this knife holds up over time (looks like its a bit soft for a blade material but is easy to sharpen). Can't post a link here, but just google "7983373 associated"

  • I have this knife and it took a bit to loosen up as well. Good knife though, but small.

  • i had the same knife, great knife but lost it =(

  • @funker6615 No its a frame lock.

  • Is there a button I have to push to close it?

  • My frame lock is a bit stiff; but not difficult to close. All in all for it's size and intended use it's a good knife.

  • It's called a framelock
