@SkylarkUtopian they hunt for 1000 whales each year, and with this happening are whales and other animals that are being hunted and killed are almost extinct. If we as people keep killing these animals in such large numbers are small numbers then what does this leave these animals but to be no longer in exsistance. Marine life plays a large part in the way we live our lives. We need a lot of these animals in order to breathe the air we do, and it helps keep the waters not over poplualted by fish

@jmaxed But the point of their research is to work out best practice for hunting whales. There are other things they could be obtaining that they need to kill whales for. You seem to be under the impression that whaling has been banned, this is not the case.

@openblue07 they hold up signs that say like we're checking feeding habits and collecting tissue samples they can get the samples by taking a small boat and using a syringe

@jmaxed Really? And what exactly is it they are researching? How do you know they could obtain the same understandings without killing whales? Have you talked to the researchers?
