Thank you, 'The Duke' gave some superb performances during the '90's

Even better than the last clip of yours I looked at. Glorious!

Thanks, the Duke is a fine machine. Glad you managed to see her despite the poor weather.

Thanks for posting this. The Duke came through my home town yesterday on its way back to Euston we only saw it for a couple of minutes as the weather was horrible. If ever an engine deserved a second chance its this one.

do they all tow a diseasel in case of failure on the main line?

At the time this was filmed the coaching stock had electric heating rather than steam heat so these former class 25's were used to heat the carriages. They were called ETHEL's (Electric Train Heating Expired Locomotive) and weren't very popular with photographers. You see quite a few tours now with a diesel either as insurance against failure or to assist with shunting at the destination

It's all good but Garsdale @ 7:32 is cine-tastic.

Thanks very much, I used to do that shot at Garsdale quite a lot, it's a shame that trains rarely stop there now

Thanks Andrew, these were good days for the Duke when I consider she was better maintained than she is now.
