Since no one else has posted- here is the real deal-
Hopefully this gets fans fired up to buy Rolf's last and final DVD----
Maybe if the DVD sells out quick - in a few years Rolf will decide to record- A Return to Port Royal---

oh man ... even rolfs guitar sounds way too boosted on the bass end. The bass itself eats up about 70% of everything you can hear. Then the bass drum has no bass in it at all , just highs, oh god , whoever did the sound to this show deserves to be hanged, drawn and quartered

@medouch this is the direct broadcast, dvd releases they eq stuff like that etc. Since this is write off the soundboard not sure if it could be typical or not at Wacken. We may never see that DVD though i worrry

@wumpscut1 yea I know its live broadcast and the dvd will be fixed (if we ever see it :), but that means that all the guys who were there (lucky bastards btw) got this awful sound. Just saying , you shouldnt let some hilly billy sound guy set you up if your band is RUNNING WILD and you re playing your LAST SHOW EVER in fuckin WACKEN!

@medouch i totally agree, i think it should have been like the 2002 DVD, like a smaller venue, with greater control over sound etc. for the last show but - what can we do now- i just play the albums alot - it works out solid

@wumpscut1 Okay the DVD finally arrived and heres my impressions - the sound is FIXED. And concerning Rolf only had the stereo mix to work with , and he actually managed to get the instruments sound at the right level , that is something. The show itself is fantastic (although I miss some of my favorites) but what had me blazing was the background stuff.No subtitles, everything in german (WTF!!!) and tha background footage totals about 8 minutes (Jesus H. christ).The rest is interviews (German)

There should be laws against speaking German to the audience on Wacken. Think about how many non-Germans are there. Especially on this concert.

And yes, this performance is rather poor. However, I'm sure the band will reunite some time in the future.
