Yes, that is called paraphrasing and if you don't cite the source your are restating it would be considered plagiarism. Anytime you present another person's ideas or work as your own you are plagiarizing. The good news is that if you cite where your information came from you're fine. It's actually good when you show your teacher that you did the research and have other sources to back up your ideas.

I have issues with plagiarism. For example:
Lennon cracked a smile for the first time that afternoon: He and Joseph actually saw eye to eye on something. (A line from a book)
He cracked a satisfaction smile knowing that David and him saw eye to eye on something that evening.(I edit to make it my own)
Or you watch a scene in a movie and try to follow it. Twist and turn it to make the line and situation different but almost the same scenario.
Is this plagiarism?

I 100% fucking agree with you I hate plagerism but my fucking teachers use turnitin.com bullshit fucks me over now I have to waste my time writing a paper honestly I will never write another paper in my life after school so why the fuck do we even write papers its pointless along with a lot of other things teachers teach you honesly a lot of school is point less youll probably use like 50% of the stuff they teach you. 1/5 of my life wasted

Thank you for your insight. I know that I can't coast through life, but I just want you to know that this was not real. I was not actually plagiarizing, but there was someone in my class that did so everyone had to make a video that included why plagiarism is bad. I'm glad you got the take home message out of my video, but don't think that's how I really am.
