My new Fenix LD01 flashlight. A small AAA light that produces 27 lumens (3.5 hrs), 10 lumens (8.5 hrs) and 80 lumens (1 hr). Picked it up today and it feels great. The same size as the E01 but much brighter. I have a few E01´s and like them but they´re a bit dark and the light is very bluish. The LD01 looks great, small AND bright :)

The 10 lumens is bright enough for me as a standard mode, I wich it went 10, 27, 80 - not starting on 27, dropping to 10 and ending at 80.

  • Is this the best flashlight that uses AAA batteries? I want to replace my Maglite solitaire. That one really sucks. lol.

  • Hi. I´ve only tried this Fenix LD01 but I´m very happy with it.

    Quark makes one AAA that is the same size but I dont like the look of it, it looks more like a small pen with a clip (google quark Preon 1 or visit 4seven.com).

    Both Fenix LD01 and Quark is high output flashlights. I cant find any output specs on the Solitare (not even on Maglights homepage) but it´s not LED as far as I can understand and the price is one tenth of the Fenix...

  • Does this torch, the Fenix LD01 take Energizer 1000 mAh NIMH batteries?

    And can you approximate how long it will last with 1000 mAh batteries?

    Thanks!

    Hi.

    I´m using a noname 1000 mAh NIMH rechargeble batteries and it lasts a long time. Ususally it doesnt run out, I just recharge it after I used it alot.

    I cant give You an exact runtime because I switch between the 3 output modes but it´s close to the figures mentiond on fenix homepage;

    28 Lumens (3.5hrs) ->9 Lumens (11hrs) ->85 Lumens (1hrs)

    Take care.

    /Jack

  • I heard the light hums at high pitch at low power?

  • Hi. Yes at 27 and 10 lumens I can hear a low frequency hum, but You have to have it very close to the ear to hear it.
