Maybe it's just me being confused here. Required? From what I can see in the HTML spec no meta tags are _required_.
"User agents are not required to support meta data mechanisms. For those that choose to support meta data, this specification does not define how meta data should be interpreted."
Anyways, I'm just saying that there is still a lot of meta tags that can be useful (not only for SEO), so I don't agree with your statement "Forget meta tags i say.".

Did anyone actually notice that this Youtube page actually uses Meta Keywords? Look at the code. If Google doesn't use keywords why would Youtube (a subsidiary of Google) use it????

They really have a bunch of brilliant people in Google. Some of their ideas don't even cross my mind.

Matt don't touch Alice and Bob, they are for security. Try Barbara and Alex for example.

@Alphieboy Remember when every comment wasn't about thumbing up and down? Remember when businesses existed to make money, and not for other people to steal their product and give it to others for free?

Where can I find out what information you use to rank (other than content of course)? And where can I find info on stuff like robot.text, which you mention so often?

Hi oneeyedgeek,
You can find plenty of information at the site shown at the end of the video. There you'll find links to our blog, help center, and even a discussion forum where you can ask more questions.
