  • It took 5 cylinder 1000cc 4 strokes with traction control, advanced suspension and computers to beat these litle 500's. There is NO better, more powerful form of kinetic energy than a 2 stroke. Honda had to "buy" the FIM and the AMA to get their way.

  • The great era, two strokes rule!!!

  • Nothing beat these machines. Damn im born in the wrong era. :( In my country, we only left we 150cc 2 strokes bikes. The last i seen was back in 1995 when my dad sold his Suzuki RG 400. He very much regretted selling it cause the power delivery of the 1000cc 4 stroke can't match the 2 strokers. Amazing. Pure adrenaline. Guess what? He's getting for me Aprilia RS 125 for me haha. Thanks dad! and 2 stroke rules! :'))

  • @Revanche2strokes Ooh and this, who said i am a expert? by just saying that i watched

it for 20 years? (as a fan) for me it's quite an achievement just to release the clutch and to ride in a straight line! you my friend you clearly have something against honda!

stop it this is a battle you are losing! so hop on your 50cc 2-stroke moped and forget about it

  • @Revanche2strokes I just want to say that i liked the 500 2-strokes very much but the same for the 4-strokes 800 or 1000. and I to am against what honda is doing to the sport just look at the starting grid 2011 only 17!, but that doesn't mean that 4-strokes is nothing and 2-strokes is everything! what i meant with more respect is for the riders and the technicians and everyone who eventually makes it possible that we the fans can talk all this bullshit to eachother here on youtube

  • @Revanche2strokes what you say about honda is taking over the sport, but

everyone (sponsors and little co's) is leaving and GP racing will be over soon,

then honda is destroying itself eventually don't you think?

yes they sell bikes, but racing against themselves is not a race so the fans will stop watching motogp's so what's your problem? and BTW don't get me wrong i love 500's and 1000's and i ain't no green greenpeace freak! for me, put them together and let them race

  • MotoGP will be gone soon. Attendance is way down, sponsorship money is waning, the small factories who raced have been forced out, by you know who & for those who have stood with the 4 stroke agenda, should be ashamed, even if you are a fan of the 4 stroke, racing should be fair. If this was the case, the fans and small co's would come back. But since it's a monopoly, people see thru it & most fans are done with the disparity. Racing, like life should have someone fighting for the injustice's.

  • @bringback500's, you sir a voice of wisdom and common sense. 2 strokes should get a chance to race fairly, yet all of this is happening to the stroker under the guise of being green. When the only green is the green dollar. It's not about the environment (see my F1 comment to mr77gg) as the snowmobile & outboard industries 2 strokes are schooling the 4 strokes and yet this technology is not given a chance to shine where ever brand "h" races. It's pathetic and we are forced to sit still for it.

  • @mr77gg You say it's about respect for the riders? Let me tell you something sobering in regards to the riders, in 20 years of 500cc 2 stroke GP racing, one racer died. In 10 years of 4 strokes, 3 have died. If 2 strokes were inferior they should go away, but to be saddled with so many stupid rules that they cannot overcome them, all in the name of being green, when it's only about money is assanine. BTW, an F1 race pollutes more in 1 week than an entire season of 2 stroke racers ever did.

  • @mr77gg, wow, you've watched racing for 20 years? Big deal, does this make you an expert? I've raced for over 35 years, so what. This has nothing to do with the riders, they race what they are told to race. It's the stupid factories that are under scrutiny. Brand "h" is killing the sport by forcing rules to accomadate their agenda. KTM, GILERA, Aprilia, Derbi and others fought the stupid rules change but honda's millions won out. Attendence is down and GP racing will soon be gone.

  • @Revanche2strokes Exactly and well put.

You might guess I want real racing to return and 500 strokers from this era brought us the best racing in the history of the sport. For the past several years its been a snore.

  • Honda is cancer of the motorcycling world, she wants a monopoly on their bikes in MotoGP, began with the 1000, then managed to create a category that only uses its engine 600, Moto2, and now, almost managed to impose, only their weak engines 250cc 4T in a category called MOTO3. It took the world to realize this, I'm hoping not too late. The giant is trying to dominate the world.
