  • it was classified as a f4

  • yeah i lived like a half mile away from all the factories that were destroyed. Had to flee to a house with a basement. I was so close all i seen was a huge black wall that sounded like a freight train and was seeing breakers blowing up in the black wall with all the blue sparks flying. Van Wert was very lucky that day to not having people in those factories working like normal since it was a sunday. They made a Dvd of of all the footage from storm stories and the weather channel about it

  • @jewellylovessinny15 Man Im sorry. At least it didnt take your life.....I hope you are recovered okay.

  • This tornado....distroyed my house. Took everything I had. :( I will never gorget that. It was catagorized as a F5 when it hit my house

  • @Tiffany7rs This hit less than a mile from my home. And Yes, unreal power. You can see the damage anywhere online. Just look for "van wert tornado 2002". It tore a TON up.

  • Sounds good,

  • I think what happened was that it formed on my street as a F1, then moved to the neighborhood down the road alittle ways and gathered strength to maybe a F2-3.

The home that was completely eradicated was not a trailer but a average sized house. If you like I can make a video of the pictures I took the next day and send it to you and then you can make your verdict as to what level of tornado it was. Okay?

  • Sections of roof missing and blown out windows would probably be F1 damage (moderate). A roof being blown away as you described it sound like F2 damage (considered significant). Was the home that was demolished a trailer? Because unless it was that or one that had poor construction that sounds like it would be high F3 (severe) possibly F4 (devastating) damage, which wouldn't match other descriptions.

  • idk what it did but the damage was pretty mild, it never blew any roofs completely off but ripped em up allittle and many people had their windows blown out. The worst damage I saw was on the street next to mine, worst there was a house that had actually gotten its roof blown away and directly behind it was a house that got completey demolished

  • @Blackdragon52k

It would have had to have touched down to do damage, especially F2 damage
