@chermaster85, yo you gotta check out a video called "Louis Armstrong Rapping"... I think you'll see just how closely jazz/swing rhythms and sensibility is very much the brother/sister of today's hiphop/rap music. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that jazz helped give birth to rap. Check it out...it's pretty tight. The juice is in the groove, whether you use melody or spoken word poetry....Dig.
