  • @ AAxx993093kdkdk I was wondering where you got your wiring harness from

  • @doza146 I bought the wiring harness from Autozone. Search for "stereo wiring harness" in the Product Search field. The harness will contain a set of wires with one plastic connector on one end; this is the end that connects to the factory wiring harness behind the radio. The other end of the set of wires contains free hanging wires (instead of a plastic connector). The reason there is no plastic connector is because there is no universal connector that will fit every after market stereo.

  • @AAxx993093kdkdk K thats actually where i was just gonna go get it because i was looking online at other places and i found about 3 different ones and im not sure which one it is

  • @doza146 The key is to make sure the harness states it is for your year, make and model of car. If it does not fit, you should be able to return it.

  • @doza146 You will need to "connect" the free hanging wires to the free hanging wires that will come as part of the aftermarket stereo you have bought. Good luck.

  • Great video! Replaced my stereo with a new Sony stereo following your instructions. Only differences is I didn't need to fully remove the glove box. And removing those metal clips were much harder than you showed it to be. Could be my fragile girl fingers weren't strong enough to push in the clips. But eventually I got them off, not without some blisters the next day.

The whole thing was actually really easy. Thanks!

  • @foxglove9 I have had more difficulty with the metal clips in my 1999 Accent, so I understand what you mean. Glad you were able to complete the job.

  • DUDE! I CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH!!! I struggled with this for 2 days not wanting to undo the cables, I did EVRYTHING backwards and lost several small pieces behind the dash. Your video helped me salvage a DISASTER!!! THANK YOU for taking the time to make this!!!

  • is their an auxiliary input or an rca input on the radio?

  • Could I find the auxiliary input this way?

  • @AAxx993093kdkdk

I have been trying to find documentation on whether or not the stock stereo in the Hyundai Accent has a 3.5mm Line-in jack on the back. I didn't look like it from your video but I wanted to see if you knew (or anyone else knows). Thanks

  • i have a problem with my dash light dimmer switch/ rheostat. wondering how do i take it out without breaking it?

  • @actuatorfulcrum cool informative comment

  • lol ok I recently invested in an MP3 stereo installation because when i bought my 2004 Hyundai Accent used it had a tape stuck in the assembly. I just got fed up with removing all that dash shit and literally took a hacksaw and cut the bezel in two places under the radio port. works and it looks like its part of the design.

  • Thanks for the helpful video tutorial, it was a real help......just have to get the radio wired up now, got the wrong adapter with the new radio. But i can get the radio in and out now no problem.

    Thanks again

    David
