Literature isn't just about the story, though. That's the point. 'Dissecting' is an inappropriate metaphor for literary analysis. It's not cutting it apart, it's burrowing into it, immersing yourself more fully in the novel/poem/play, more like a journey. Any work of literature worth its salt requires work to understand it, an act of interpretation by the reader. Not one of my favourite novels have I fully understood the first time I read it, and there's still more to discover I'm sure.

Oh, trust me. My friends think I'm a dork too for liking linguistics. It seems a little bit like psych starting out. There's so much memorization at first but then it gets easier. I just love language as a whole.

I am a sophomore, and I love the linguistics minor so far... though I have only taken one linguistics class so far. I just love linguistics. Yes, I am a total geek. But it's not that difficult yet. (yet!)

Language Awareness: the best ever. It's a linguistics class. My professor is a cute little Turkish woman. Thinking about being a linguistics minor just because it's interesting, although that's the only linguistics class I've taken so far. I'm signed up for another one next semester. I have a short essay test on Thursday. Kinda freaking out because it's a hard class.
What's it like being a linguistics minor? It's sounds really difficult. Are you a sophomore?

Art Appreciation and Geography don't really matter. Boring. Didn't want to take a 'real' art or science class.
German: awesome! Having trouble with the whole accent thing though, but the language is amazing. So awkward and angry.
Child Psych: Eh, it's okay. I'm a psych major, so I do enjoy it some. Wanted to take adolescence, though.
